WORKSHOPS
Starting this Spring of 09' we will be opening up scheduling for some workshops for private individuals, groups, and/or organizations. If you are interested and wish to carry on these traditional and powwow ways contact us so we can talk about the fees and times that we will be available.
The hands on learning of contemporary and traditional powwow beadwork and competition outfits will show you our technique and the tricks we have learned that make our work so outstanding and unique.These are things we have perfected over the last 20+ years ...We can go over different beading styles and designs to give you that extra edge to your work or the know how to get started on your new beadwork.... we will help come up with designs, color scheme and help with any other things you feel you need info on.
The fee we charge for our workshops is $500.00 per person and will be for two 6 hour sessions ....here in Tuba City , AZ ... Bring funding for your materials because we will make a trip to the fabric shops to get your materials to make the outfit you need and a lesson on what works best... and we will have the beads that you can purchase from us at a low cost and share with you the best materials for beading.
You will still be responsible for the travel expense plus a place to stay. .. I can give you some local hotels that are not too pricey and very close.
I want serious inquires ONLY! If you need us to make a trip to your area the same fee applies plus you will need to cover our travel expenses and our boarding....
DANCE PERFORMANCES
Have you ever wondered what a powwow was, and what are the different styles of dancing and what each style represents? Now is a great time to have us come and perform for you! We are a huge powwow family who competes all over the USA...
You will get to see every dance style and the majority will be preformed by children who are champion dancers with exquisite beadwork and outfits. We will also give an informative description of each style and its origin.We are unique from other dancce troops in that we demonstrait each style through our children... its wonderful to get an appreciation for the culture being passed down at such an early age.... it makes the trips to elementary schools so much mre exciting for the other children watching the performances.....
Also available will be a traditional Hopi social dance that we can do if you are interested in powwow as well as something more traditional to the southwest....
Our fees are based on how large a venue it is and distance so for pricing please call or email ....ONLY SERIOUS INQUIRES PLEASE
